This special reentry social-emotional wellness unit was created to support educators and students as they navigate the new normal of hybrid learning. Trauma sensitive, healing centered language and practices encourage post-traumatic growth and promote physical,mental, and emotional wellness.
 
At this time, information about COVID-19 is rapidly evolving as new details are confirmed and new questions emerge. In the event of health related school closures in our community, your first concern is about how to protect and take care of your children and family. Social Emotional Learning lessons can reduce stress and help calm likely anxieties. Lessons and parent resources are currently available  for Grades Pre-K through 12.

The State of NJ Department of Families and Children has  launched the Social Distancing Shouldn’t Mean Social Isolation campaign. In addition, April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. 

 

  1. The NJ Department of Children and Families has launched a ‘Social Distancing Shouldn’t Mean Social Isolation’ campaign to raise awareness about child abuse, domestic violence and other dangers facing residents while homebound.   2. During these uncertain times of social distancing, many children are at risk of child abuse. #BRIDGETHEGAP. Everyone in NJ is a mandatory reporter. Call 1-877-652-2873 to report suspected abuse or neglect. Don’t let being stuck inside bring out the worst in you. Use these six tips to deescalate a (or many) tense moment/s with loved ones.
  3. Educators and Healthcare Workers are the leading reporters of child abuse. But with schools on hiatus, doctors focused on COVID-19 and families social distancing, many children are at-risk.#BRIDGETHEGAP. Everyone in New Jersey is  a mandated reporter.
